The MSc in Food Science offers advanced, research-based education preparing students in the fields of sustainable use of natural resources and long-term, global food production and safety. Graduates gain a good comprehension of science, independence in thought and work, a system-oriented and interdisciplinary perspective and communicative competence. The programme leads to full professional qualification needed for a professional career or for continuing with doctoral studies.
Students choose one of the following Majors (40 credits):
- Food Processing
- Food Quality and Safety
- Nutrition and Health
A broad range of Minors and/or elective subjects (20 credits) give students further possibility to define an individual curriculum. The six-month Master's thesis is carried out in the chosen Major. In addition, students can complete an optional internship, which is certified by the Department.
