Program Description

The Master's programme in Biotechnology offers a unique training opportunity at the interface of gene therapy, tissue engineering and biopharmaceutical manufacturing. A variety of top experts in the field will provide forefront insight into all aspects of modern biotechnology. These core lectures will be complemented by several electives, chosen by the student to enable specialization in desired life science areas, and by extensive practical research tailored to be in the vanguard of scientific progress . Within two to three semesters the MSc in Biotechnology will shape leaders in Biotechnology ready to continue cutting-edge research in academia and/or eventually head research and development units in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
The programme is taught at ETH Zurich’s Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering in Basel.

Entry Requirements
The equivalent of an ETH Bachelor’s degree in a natural science or engineering discipline, such as Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Application period: For all applicants: 30 October – 15 December for entry into the following Autumn Semester (mid-September).
